Morning all,
I'm struggling with, what I imagine is, a simple problem, and would
appreciate any help or points in the right direction.
I've been developing a search facility which works within the task
frame. This has been written within JavaScript, and uses Ajax to query
the database to get the search results. The idea is that once the
search results are displayed, the user can then click on a result and
the map will zoom to that item (again using JavaScript). The problem
is, is that not all the items that are returned have an easting and
northing co-ordinate. Some of the items are contained within shape files.
I figured the easiest way to zoom to an item, was to select it on the
map, and then zoom into that selection. This is where I hit the
problem. I'm guessing SetSelectionXML() will be used to add the
selection to the map, however I'm not too sure on what format the XML
should take.
I've used GetSelectionXML to get the XML for a similar item that I
select, but it contains id's for the layer and the item. However these
do not match the id's that exist in the shape file. Basically what I
want to know is how do I generate the correct id's for the layer and
the items (which I wish to select)??
Thanks,
Bev
