Create a view of the table that doesn't contain that column. Modify your layer 
to point to the view. Using a view has been explained here several times.

 I am using mapguide server 2011 and mapguide studio and database sql
server2008 r2. My data base table contain time stamp field (which i kept this 
for my replication purpose). when i go to view data it is showing An exception 
occurred in FDO component. RDBMS: Incompatible column type. If i removed that 
field it is coming. please suggest how can i rectify this problem. i need that 
column in my table.
