Hi Jackie,
Thank you very much for the help. What you did is exactly what i did to load the wms as a layer definition.

The layer names that create problems are the following:

- [TI-028b.1] Gambarogno Lalpt - Piano zone Magadino (ti 028b_1 zp100064_pz_ma)
- [TI-028b.1] Gambarogno Lalpt - Piano zone S. Nazzaro (ti 028b_1 zp100064_pz_sn)
- [TI-028b.1] Gambarogno Lalpt - Piano zone S. Abbondio (ti 028b_1 zp100064_pz_sa)
- [TI-028b.1] Gambarogno Lalpt - Piano zone Gerra G. (ti 028b_1 zp100064_pz_ge_)
- [TI-028b.1] Gambarogno Lalpt - Piano zone Vira G. (ti 028b_1 zp100064_pz_vi)
- [TI-028b.1] Gambarogno Lalpt - Piano zone Indemini (ti 028b_1 zp100064_pz_in)
- [TI-028b.1] Gambarogno Lalpt - Piano zone Piazzogna (ti 028b_1 zp100064_pz_pi)
- [TI-028b.1] Gambarogno Lalpt - Piano zone Caviano (ti 028b_1 zp100064_pz_ca)

The improvements that you did to the advanced options of the WMS feture source are avaliable on the next release of Maestro?

Another question the query to wms in ajax viewer are possible only  with implementation of an external programm right or there is another solution?

I try to compose the getfetureinfo and create a link on a tooltip but i dont know how to find the width, hight, i and j paramters of wms to complete the url.

Have you some idea or advise?

Thank you so much

Thanks for the WMS service URL. However I could not reproduce the problem.
Mainly because I couldn't find a layer with a dot in its name amongst the several hundred WMS layers provided by that service.

Can you provide the exact layer name (as indicated in their WMS capabilities XML) that is giving you grief? Because I can't find it and I don't want to waste time doing trial and error on a WMS service that has several hundred layers.

Also for reference, this is what I did.

1. Connect to my MG 4.0 beta 2 server with MapGuide Maestro 2. Create a WMS feature source 3. Connect to the given service URL 4. Click Advanced on the WMS Feature Source editor to have it build a default configuration document and bring up the advanced configuration dialog.
5. This config document as-is could not be saved as the MG server complains about log buffer size full (probably because we're trying to save a Feature Source with a several MB XML configuration document. So I implemented some QoL improvements to this WMS config UI (
https://github.com/jumpinjackie/mapguide-maestro/issues/154) to allow us to trim out a whole bunch of feature classes, resulting in a slimmer configuration document before saving.
6. Once configured, I saved the feature source 7. I then set up a Layer Definition pointing to this new Feature Source.
Barring a few feature classes (geodati_base_* in particular) pretty much any feature class I pointed this layer defn at was previewable.
