I am working on topographical drawings in the papers relating to the
mid-nineteenth century
Ordnance Survey of Ireland and I am seeking references and sources in relation
to the depiction of relief.
Are there any other techniques for showing relief in early nineteenth century
map making apart from hachuring or shading? Are there are any sources for the
training of hill sketchers apart from Yoland Jones (Cartographic Jnl, vol. 11
(1974))
