Iliuliuk, I have been told, is the Aleut name for the village of Unalaska. Dutch Harbor is actually on the islet of Amaknak, connected by a bridge to Unalaska. (It must be tiny indeed, as last year, when I was there, I did not notice a separation.) The U.S. Coast Survey was rather slow in charting the area, following the tracks of the Russians - the weather, often cloudy, rainy, and very windy, coupled with the tides and multitudes of islands, makes charting very difficult.
