There are many Metros on the planet-- the Metro in question in recent posts is
that of metropolitan Washington DC, which includes parts of the states of
Maryland and Virginia, along with an American colony, one of many, known as the
District of Columbia. The metro map is look overdue for a re-design, given
matters like:

(1) in its first iterations, the map didn't include the Potomac and Anacostia
rivers, which are major features of the landscape, besides which the Potomac's
western shore is the boundary between the states of Maryland and Virginia. The
present maps do have thin stylized celestial blue blobby lines, but these do
not say "river" very strongly.

(2) All iterations of the Metro maps thus far have failed to convey any element
of the system of street-level roads, or any element of street-level public
transit which is part of the very same Metro system, actually, or freeways like
the Beltway loops around the Capital, or just about anything else in fact in
the entire urban/suburban landscape. The Washington Metro map is in fact one
of the worst designed transit maps on this planet. Possibly other planets as
well.
