There have been many earlier maps that present alternative depictions, or evolutions in the depictions of, a region. Without doing some foot work I can’t say whether any I know of declare the earlier depictions to be erroneous, but that is certainly the implication. Do you want examples, or do you specifically seek maps that state that the earlier maps are erroneous in this and that respect, and that this particular map is correct?
