I must confess that I am one of those persons who use the world to orient myself on the map and not the map to orient myself in the world. Not all the time, of course, but much of the time the map becomes my "primary reality." I am aware that the map is a selective abstraction, but I still find myself taking the map's representation as the reality in which I travel. This becomes something of a "double think" process, both "worlds" are valid. JBP
