The divide by zero error in Layout used to be caused by MapInfo not finding a printer driver.
Check to see if the Win98 machine has a printer defined as the default printer.
If not, I'd say install any printer driver and set it as the default.
If there is one, I'd try another.

You're on shaky ground here, because MapInfo 3.0 on Win 3.1 wants 16 bit printer drivers, which should not work at all with Win 98.  You might try installing an old 16 bit driver (and not be able to print, but not get a divide by zero), or that may be causing the problem in the first place!
Another thing to try is to upgrade/patch MapInfo: patches are available at the http://www.mapinfo.com/solutions_and_services/free/index.html

Good luck!

Subject: MI Version 3.0 Problem

G'day Mappers
I have a client who is running MapInfo 3.0 along with some runtimes perform automated mapping tasks.

As usual everything is going along sweetly until they upgrade from Win 3.1 to Windows 98.

Now MapInfo or the runtimes will create a Layout we get a Floating Point error Divide by Zero.

I know the logical thing to do would be to go through and upgrade them to 5.5 , but the application is small
works well (normally) and the client does not wish to spend big dollars.

Does any one know of problems when their clients went from Win 3.1 to Win 95/98/NT, and if so any
suggested fixes or patches.
