Further to the previous message (below):
I get the impression now that MI would do the trick just fine, if only I
could make the raster image layer editable. Any chance for that at all??

Subject: MI / Adobe Illustrator exercise
Hi there folks,
I am sure somebody must have tried this before, but I am struggling no
end:
I have a MI-map, which I want to overlay with a raster image. Bringing
the image in and getting it registered within MI is no problem, but I want to
cut a hole in the image and look through it at - part of my - map.
The image was obtained by scanning it in and editing it to some extent in
Adobe Illustrator V7.0, a package that I am not very experienced with, but it
seemed to do what I wanted at the time. However, I need to cut a
rather complex hole in it and then bring it back into MI. Does anyone have any
suggestions how I should tackle this??
Thanks in advance.
