I would like to open an Excel worksheet but the MapBasic manuals only
indicate how to register an excel *.xls file if you give mapbasic the name
of the range or worksheet. But MapInfo can read the available worksheets
and the ranges in these worksheets that contain data or have formatting.
So one would hope that MapBasic could duplicate this MapInfo functionality
and enable a programmer to read the available worksheet names in a chosen
xls file.
Am I missing something in the MapBasic manual?
I have checked the MS knowlege base, the MB sample code on the install CD,
and Thoen's list of uploads.
What is the secret MapInfo?
