Hi again - thanks for all the help with the buffers. I ended up with what I
needed. Only now they want a different twist just to torture me. Here goes:
I have my county of Fresno set up as its own little happy table and now have
my 30 mile buffer surrounding it. I can get the zip codes for the combined
Fresno and buffer area as well as the zip codes for just the Fresno area.
What they want to see now is only the zips in the 30 mile buffer surrounding
Fresno. I have been looking in the book (ver.5.0) and in Chpt 16, page 273 it
talks about Set Target and erasing objects using a 'cookie cutter'. It looks
like I should be able to set up my 30 mile buffer zone then 'cut' out Fresno
in the middle leaving only the zips in the zone. But I am having no luck
making it work. It doesn't talk about buffers so maybe it doesn't work with
buffers?
so far I have:
selected Fresno, made it the 'target'
put a 30 mile buffer around it
then I'm stuck
help?
