I'm having a more than frustrating time converting some SDTS files into
something MI understands. I bought Bill Thoen's dlg2mif translator but now
I find it only works with the optional format files and not with the SDTS
format (.ddf extension). I have data for all of California that I purchased
from GIS Data Depot, but for at least some of the areas there is only SDTS
format data.
I've tried Sol Katz's sdts2mif program which seems to be able to read the
header file but then gives an error message saying "Can't Open File".
Anyway, I'm now frustrated enough to consider shelling out more money to
buy one of the commercial translators, but am looking for some feedback on
which one is best. I'd really like something that's Window's based and can
convert both attribute and object files. Any suggestions? I've checked the
web sites of Geomorph, GIS Tools and FME, but I'd like some realworld
feedback.
TIA,
Tim
