Hi Fran,

Sounds like there's a zoom range set for the image layer.

The zoom range for raster images is automatically set when they are added to
a mapper so if you're zoomed out a long way on a high resolution image it will
not be drawn. You can turn off the zoom layering by going to the layer control,
selecting the raster layer, pressing the display button and turning off the
"Display within Zoom Range".

The reason MapInfo automatically sets the zoom range is to overcome lengthy
redraws. (ie a high resolution image can take a while to redraw when zoomed
out a long way). Unforunately this automatic feature is a bit obselete when
dealing with imagery that has re-scaling properties built-in (such as MrSID)
because it doesn't take any longer to view no matter what the zoom distance
is.
