Try this:
Open MapBasic-window. Type: print "your text" and hit Retur. Up come the
message-window and you can place it in the layout. You can paste more "your
text" to the MapBasic-window.
Good luck

mne: MI Maximum Text Limit

I have a situation where I am exceeding the maximum allowable text
limits for MI.
I am attempting to add in a fairly lengthy disclaimer that has to go onto
all mapping products & find that it can't be done all in one go. I have
tried unsuccessfully:-
- typing it in directly onto the layout window, (doesn't work as it exceeds
text limit),
- opening it up as a delimited ascii (.txt) file, (it opens up in columns) &
- typing disclaimer in sections, aligning it up as best possible & saving as
a table. Trouble is it has to be moved around & manipulated to suit on
different size maps. I guess my question simply is "Can the text limit be
altered say through Mapbasic?"

Cheers
