Hi Jon

You can do this even without MapBasic. CentroidX and CentroidY can be
used to get the centroid values.

>From the TABLE menu select Update column. Create 2 new temporary columns
and use the functions CentroidX and CentroidY to populate these columns.
Save a copy of this table as type DBF. Get rid of the MAP, TAB and ID
file. Then open up your DBF file and then use Create Points from Table
menu and create new points for each row in this copy table. This is a
bit of a crude way but it its a "one off" it will be the quickest!

If you need to this more than once then a MapBasic Program could be much
more elegant!
