The symbology for each table is determined in the MapInfo MapCatalog table,
and is limited to one style per table.
Inserting the stuff manually is not for the timid; didn't used to work at
all without calls to the OCI, if I remember correctly.
However, Kevin Mahoney submitted a tool that sounds like it might do the
trick: allow you to use SQL-Loader. That'd be fast enough for a 4 gig'er.
