The real reason is because MapInfo made MAJOR changes/improvements to their
object processing routines. That is why you seldom see the "Error occurred
overlaying objects" (or whatever that thing was) anymore.
This same object processing is used to create clipped regions and buffers.
The processing speed is not a factor to me, if it runs fast and doesn't
give the right answer.
