Dear All, I have forwarded this to the group for your information. Sharon, I hope Alison's reply helped! You CAN contact the Ordnance Survey by telephone or email: Tel. 08456 050505 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Kind regards, Pete, Ordnance Survey, UK -----Original Message----- From: Laker, Alison Sent: 26 October 1999 10:08 To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: RE: MI Re: Ordnance Survey Topo Data Sharon, I am sorry you were so badly treated by Ordnance Survey. I don't know who responded to your original e-mail saying you needed to ring us but if you let me know then I can speak to them concerning their good customer care. I am happy to e-mail you information concerning our digital height data. There are two sets available: 1.Land-Form PROFILE Land-Form PROFILE is the 1:10 000 scale digital height dataset covering the whole of Great Britain and is available as either contours or digital terrain models (DTMs). DTMs consist of grid height values at 10 m intervals which have been mathematically interpolated from the contour data. It is sold in 5 km by 5 km tile sizes. There is a 5 m contour vertical interval (10 m in mountain and moorland areas) and a 10 m DTM grid. There is a countour height accuracy of + or - 1.5m. The suggested applications for this include flood risk assessment, environmental impact analysis, highway planning, water pressure and network analysis and for use in geographical information systems. It is available in NTF or DXF (AutoCAD release 12 compatible). 2. Land-Form PANORAMA Land-Form PANORAMA is the 1:50 000 scale digital height dataset covering the whole of Great Britain and is available as either contours or digital terrain models (DTMs).DTMs consist of grid height values at 50 m intervals which have been mathematically interpolated from the contour data. The data is sold in 20 km by 20 km tile sizes. There is a 10 m contour vertical interval and a 50 m DTM grid. There is a countour height accuracy of + or - 3.0m. The suggested applications for this include radio planning and propogation, drainage analysis, geological modelling, for use in geographical information systems and for fly-through sequences using DTM's. If you would like me to provide you with a quote or further details please could you let me know how large an area around Glasgow you are interested in, your full name and address, fax number and telephone number (fax number will be used to fax order forms and contract details to you. These require signing.) I wait to hear from you and once again I apologise for your problems in contacting us previously.
