This came across the NSDI-L list and if you are interested in data for the state of Pennsylvannia, this is a site worth bookmarking. - Bill Thoen --- Subject: NSDI_L State-wide data availablity Date: Thu, 04 Nov 1999 09:07:32 -0500 From: Chris Pfeiffer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> As one of the services of our clearinghouse, Pennsylvania Spatial Data Access (PASDA) has been freely serving out a wide variety of state-wide data sets, some created by state agencies, either internally or by contract, as well as USGS products like the DEMs, DRGs, and DOQQs purchased through the PA Bureau of Topographic and Geologic Survey for the purpose of serving the data to the public. Judging from comments we have received this has been enormously helpful to both our users and the USGS. We would like to further assist our users by offering direct links to other authorized, on-line sources of free statewide data and metadata. This will enable us more effectively steer users with requests for out-of-state data to the sources most immediately connected with the data stewards or otherwise having indications of provenance. We have been and continue to look at the registered clearinghouse sites but want to be sure to be inclusive. If your site or organization freely serves out data and metadata as described above, please respond so that we may include it in our links.
