Its not that Access can't open the files but that *.dbf using systems have
imposed 8.3 names and Win95 filename extensions will not be accepted.  When
you save a table with greater than 8 characters or spaces in the name, you
will find Access removes spaces and truncates to 8 characters to maintain
consistency.  Dbf files don't use 'proper' file names.
