Check out the MI Pro manual Appendix C: Advanced Geocoding.  Descriptions
of how abbreviations work can be found.  You will likely need to edit the
mapinfow.abb ascii file to remove the abbreviations
north n
south s
east e
west w
lane ln

This would fix your current problem but will introduce others regarding
exact matches for lane ln etc.  However, this can also be overcome by
preprocessing your street data for conformance and consistency.
