Recently there was some discussion on the list about getting Oracle Spatial set up with MapInfo set up, and uploading the data from MapInfo to Oracle. I kept a number of those submissions, but without Oracle spatial on our network and an Oracle expert on staff, we could not try out the recommendations. That is remedied now, we now have Oracle 8i on a linux machine and an Oracle dba locked in his room upstairs. Tomorrow, we are about to try to upload existing MapInfo/ Access tables to Oracle and then try to use an existing Mapbasic application with it. While there are quite a few good hints and details in the list discussions, has anyone produced (or in the process of producing) a white paper on the steps and traps of this process? I downloaded a copy of easyloader from DMS's site. and could find any reference to it on MapInfo's site as was suggested in the list. Would appresciate any pointers at this stage before we spend the day rediscovering those traps.
