Greetings list,
My company is considering moving to a thin client model with a server
residing off site that all of our various Midwest USA branches could access
via fast (DSL or cable modem) connection through an ISP. We tested this
scenario today by hitting MiPro and map data on a server from thin clients
across a 256K DSL ISP connection. Results were less than impressive. The
test server was dual processor PIII 500 MHz with 512 MB RAM. Connection to
thin clients was over 256K DSL line through an internet service provider.
MapInfo was MI4.5.2. Anyone have any luck with this type of scenario - any
pointers or suggestions from you network junkies out there?
