Using intranet systems with mapinfo like mapextreme or mapxsite and an 
operating system like qnx (www.qnx.com) which provide tcp/ip connection with 
modem or LAN and a web browser.. u can use your old 386 or 486 machine with 
4 MB ram and no hardisk (only floppy disk drive) it will work very 
efficent...

if u wanna use other tools like ofiice word and excel u have to ask to 
support of qnx..
