Dear Mappers,
I am designing an MS Access based Mining Cadastre for an African
Geological Survey. The Polygons delimiting the zones of mineral
exploration concessions are stored in an access table containing their
nodes in rows constructed in the form of:
column 1 ........... col x1 col
y1 col x2 col y2 ........... col y15
row1 concession_polygon 1 name .... long1_1 lat1_1
long1_2 lat1_2 .....
row2 concession_polygon 2 name .... long2_1 lat2_1
long2_2 lat2_2 ....
etc..
There is no problem at all linking or importing the table to Mapinfo and
even making it mappeable and creating a point from a node, but this
allows me only to use one node x1,y1 each time.
I cannot find any tool that will allow me to read each row and
automatically construct a ploygon (region) from the nodes x1,y1 /x2,y2 /
.... .
I can of course re-draw the regions myself in Mapinfo using the
coordinates stored in the colums, but I can also not find a way to
manually entering the values through the keyboard instead of pointing
with the mouse a blank spot on a map at their exact location.
Did anyone run into similar problems (I guess anyone using cadastres
did) and now did you solve it?
