On your GPS unit's map page, go into the tracking properties and you
may find it to be set to default. This setting on the Garmin, marks
a track point when you make a significant change in direction. To
gain more precision, you can change this to a timed interval, down to
1 second.
I don't know if this will fix your problem, we don't have a late
enough version of MI to run Geotracker, however our other apps have
this "interval" setting which calls on the GPS for a track point at
the specified timeing.
