Pat....   Using Terrain Navigator topo map software I can convert back and
forth for any point.  ie
UTM coordinates  17 02 64 44E
                                  39 05 37N
converts to Lat 35 15 44.93  Long 083 35 37.37   which I then know how to
convert it to D.D for MI.

my two columns at   17 02 64 44   and then 39 05 37.

to make things even more confusing for the novice. the Mentor Software
MGRS/UTM converter gives the DD MM SS conversion to UTM as   Zone 17N
Easting 264,050.51 Northing 3,905,236.27

Go figure..... I'll be chasing my tail forever trying to get a hold of all
these coordinates conversions
