Hi all,
I have a client who wants to print a continuous thematic map
under MapInfo Pro 5.5 and Win2000. He is getting blobby output
instead of a beautiful picture and would like to know if the
problem can be rectified.
I am aware of two issues that immediately spring to mind.
Firstly, MapInfo Pro 5.5 does not like to print continuous
thematic maps in 24 bit colour ... sometimes. I know that you
can get around this problem by setting the colours back to 256 :
Use RegEdit.EXE to create a new DWORD value:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MapInfo\MapInfo\CommonDLLs\UseTrueColor
and set it to 0x00000000 (0)
Secondly, MapInfo Pro 5.5 is not supported under Windows 2000.
Can't really think of a solution but I might have to suggest that
this is a compelling reason to upgrade. I guess that is the
price you pay when you are on bleeding edge ... you have to
upgrade the application to fit with the OS, or the OS to run the
apps. Of course, I would like to verify that it would solve the
problem before I suggest this as a solution. Can someone provide
me with an indication of whether this would be the case so that I
could help prepare my client for an upgrade :-)
Regards,
