I use building city models for my work. I find that 3d studio Max works
well for the 3d part. You can attach some attributes to the data as well.

Has anyone used MapInfo or other mapping software to create a 3-D GIS? In
particular buildings, structures etc.
For example modelling a building facade and being able to view the data in
3-D and also attaching attributes to this data.
