Tony,

Northwood Technologies has two products that perform 3D in a GIS. Vertical
Mapper has a 3D component called GridView which will allows you generate 3D
scenes including the portrayal of buildings and other features. If you want
to take your 3D analysis to the next step try Virtual Frontier which allows
you to place objects into the scene (trees, cars), generate buildings from
heighted .dxf files, and fly around the scene manually or along a flight
path. In addition to this you are able to render an image to the side of
each building making them look more realistic. Both product work closely
with MapInfo Professional. For more information try

Subject: MI 3-D GIS

Greetings all,

Has anyone used MapInfo or other mapping software to create a 3-D GIS? In
particular buildings, structures etc.
For example modelling a building facade and being able to view the data in
3-D and also attaching attributes to this data.

Regards

Tony
