Hi David
Using FME you should be able to achieve pretty good results writing to MIF/MID (do not
use TAB directly for text objects!).
What we experienced, this is a problem within MapInfo; even if you create the text
features using MapBasic.
Especially creating multiline text it does really weard things, such as the "text box"
ending up beside the text.
