Tony,
A company called SpatialPlus (unfortunately, they are no longer around)
developed a freeware product called cont2dxf which will do what you want for
AutoCad. If it is not on the MapInfo site, email me and I would be happy to
send it to you.

Subject: MI 3-D GIS to CAD
Hi all,
Has anyone had any luck in converting 3-D GIS data from Vertical Mapper etc
to 3-D strings in CAD (MicroStation, AutoCAD)?
Is there a way to convert contour lines or spot heights into 3-D
strings/points in any CAD system?
Regards
Tony
