Listers, After a bit of head scratching I added the following lines to the Mapinfo.prj file: "--- US State Plane Coordinate Systems (1927, metres) ---" "California 0407, Zone VII (1927)\metres", 3, 62, 7, -118.3333333333, 34.1333333333, 33.8666666667, 34.4166666667, 1276103.898384, 1268250.470352 I set this as the projection in ArcLink, imported the USGS .e00 files, and they seem to land in the correct place. The only thing I'm not sure about is what the 6th and 7th parameters refer to - are these the standard parallels? I'm assuming they can be left as is when converting from feet to metres. Thanks again to everyone for their suggestions. Cheers, Tim _____________________________ Tim Warman Geologist & GIS Specialist Richard C.
