Title: MI limit on file size
I believe there is an inherent file size limit of 2 Gb.  One of our customers reported problems when a .map file reached this size.  Once upon a time (and when the format of the MapInfo table files was designed), Windows had this as a disk partition size limit, so no file could exceed it.  The .id file serves as a link between the .dat and the .map files and I suspect the size of the pointer fields is limited to point to a maximum value of 2 Gb.

Anybody from MapInfo development care to confirm this?

Does anyone know if there is a file size limit on MI tables? I have a dat file that doesn't seem to want to save above 2GB.
