M. Ethan Hohneck,
In some other GIS applications, the centroid is recalculate when the
topology is rebuilded (build topology feature) or on saving the edition
session. This anwser might be incomplete but it can guide you somehow. I
tried your experience and I found it curious but real. Only when I displaced
one of the vertex beyong the centroid position then it moved but not untill
I did it (moon crescent figure). I also observed that the map window did not
recenter on the new polygon figure (the layer was saved before viewing on
the entire layer). I tried the centroid function and it calculated (in meter
for precision) the same centroid co-ordinates than before the changes Funny
topology !
