Pierre,
To fix your true type font problems, use xfstt. install this and read the
docs on how to add the true type fonts onto your X font path. Look for a
package for RedHat 6.2 that will install xfstt.
Hope this helps.

Subject: MI - MapXtreme Java 3 and RedHat v6.2
Is there anyone having experience with MXJ 3 and Red Hat Linux ?
I still no success with MXJ 3.0 and RedHat 6.2 as far as symbols are
concerned. To summarize:
- I use the evaluation edition
- I run the Map Definition Manager with world.gst and us.gst
- every symbol is appearing as a character such as : or <
- I checked that the 10 fonts are present in server/fonts
- lax file is OK; I am able to show polygons, polylines, labels without
problem; I cannot imagine something with PATH or CLASSPATH or LAX files (if
so I would regard this more as an installation bug); I run all tests as root
- I installed as well on a Win NT 4 SP 5; same problem until I realized that
mapsymu.ttf had not been copied to the font directory; when done, all is OK;
but for RHG, I am stuck
Can somebody help me ? Anyone who installed MXJ on RedHat ?
