Hello everyone:

I'm still learning MapInfo, having used it for only about 4-5 weeks now.

My project involves about 12,000 polygons that I map thematically.
Everything is going well except that I have created and erased (through
layer control) many different versions of these maps in one workspace
and at one point MapInfo 6 says something like: "Too many files open."

I believe that MapInfo is telling me that many of these now erased
thematic maps are now cluttering up the workspace which is up to 2MB
in size. I closed some unused table but that doesn't seem to be the
solution.

If this is the case how do I clean up the workspace of unused thematic maps?
Is there an semi-automated way to do it or must it be done manually?

If my explanation isn't correct, what is the solution to this problem?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide a solution. I always learn
much from the posts and answers.

Best regards,

Daniel Beauchamp
