Make a copy of your page, then make it editable, select all and in the
MBWindow

update your_table_name set obj=createpoint(centroidX(obj),centroidY(obj))

You must use the MBWindow because the column obj is not accessible via the
update menu command

Subject: MI-L question

hello Listers

Does anyone know of a method or script in Mapinfo which will create points
to represent the locations of elipse/polygon centroids? I also want the
points to retain the non-spatial attributes of the source features

cheers
