Michelle,

Did you get the data from Eagle Technology?  If so they have an ArcView APR file that defines the symbology.  You would need access to ArcView to see what it looks like.

Alternatively check out the LINZ web site

for infromation on each feature type.  This won't tell you what the symbology is but does show an example of each feature.

Cheers

Martin

Subject: MI-L Standard cartographic map symbol/legend definition/ list?

Hi,  I've just imported a significant amount of New Zealand topographical data into MapInfo from ESRI, but all the point features are black stars, lines features black lines etc.  Is there a downloadable document/list/description for the cartographic representation of map features?  International?  Australian or New Zealand-ish?  I'd prefer to use recognisable symbols instead of choosing my own at whim

Thanks,

Michelle Smith
