The MapInfo-L list is once again open to non-subscribers to post
mail, so you no longer have to sign up to post messages. BUT we
have a filter running that strips away attachments and purifies
MIME-formatted mail. This new decontamination procedure means
that you should see no more viruses from this list.
It also means that purple prose (or any other colored font),
pictures, vcards and all other junk like that will be burned away
before your message hits the list. So don't bother getting fancy
with HTML formatting; it will be scraped off.
If you want to distribute a file, you now have to either upload
it to the Directions Magazine tools site or send it to people via
private email. Hopefully this spartan format will not dampen
anyone's online experience.
