Has anyone noticed incompatibilities with NT 4.0 SP6a and MapInfo 5.5, Vertical Mapper 2.6, Virtual Frontier 1.04? I have been getting system crashes on occasion and am wondering if it's hardware, or software. I've recently switched motherboards due to the crashing and instability and will be getting some new HD's soon and I will be rebuilding my workstation, but perhaps some of the trouble is software. Specifically, the files which are involved in the crash alot are: "winsrv.dll", and "ntoskrnl.exe" Perhaps these files are being corrupted due to excessive swapping load placed on the OS, and extra Virtual Memory resources being temporarily being allocated and this allocation process could be partially overwriting the OS or files in use. My pagefile.sys is at 768MB and I have 512MB of PC133 RAM. Dual PIII 866Mhz. I only have about 1.5GB C:> drive space left and 1.4 GB on my F:> drive partition. They are both partitions on a 20.4GB drive. I am getting a 90GB RAID soon but the drives are on backorder....>:-| Thanks for you insight in advance, Stan _______________________________________________________________________ List hosting provided by Directions Magazine | www.directionsmag.com | To unsubscribe, send e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and put "unsubscribe MapInfo-L" in the message body.
