This makes perfect sense to me. In NT, even if I am the only user on my
system, I use an admin account when I install software, and a user
account for ordinary work.

This is something we needed for long in network installations. The
default places for a lot of stuff needs rights that I am reluctant to
offer users on a shared programs network disk.
What about the tool manager handling? I would like to be able to update
all user's tool managers whenever I add some shared utility to our
shared installation.
