Its a wonder the people from ERSIS http://www.ersis.com.au/index2.html
haven't jumped in with a plug for their MapShop product? It has a range of
functions including labelling to scale, and others like automated printing.

Subject: Re: MI-L Text Scaling
Caroline,
we did get a lot of problems with text + Mapinfo.
Mapinfo is not only "bad text sizing" but bad text
everything. A complete disaster.
There is a couple of plugins more than Discover: one
is from a company impossible to contact...??? ... the
other one is really expensive... you must pay for each
label you want to place, unless you can pay 25.000 USD
aprox.
The solutions we found and we use now:
1.- converting to dxf and editing it as a text plain
text file.
2.- exporting files to Arc-View and handling with this
software the text layers. ArcView has many more and
much cheaper labeling add-ons that MI.
I know Arc-View solution is not cheap, but in fact I
think it's worther (Arc-View + Add-On) than the only
MI Add-on.
