Yes. I use Geotrack a Garmin 12cx and MI extensively and they work
beatifully together. I use the timing of track points extensivly as well,
depending on what mode of transportation I'm using <automobile, atv or
afoot>. Naturally, on foot, you would might want to increase the number of
trackpoints recorded if you were plotting a winding foot or bicycle path.
To adjust the timing of your trackpoints with Geotracker and Mapinfo
running,
-maximize the Geographic Tracker Window.
-Click on >Options< >Set Preferences<
-Set the >Update Interval< to the timing you want to use. This is how your
trackpoints are taken, in Mapinfo, this would be equivilant to the node
spacing of the polyline which Geotracker is creating in it's Geocoding
table.
-don't forget to set your other desired perameters while in the preferences
window.
Geocoding with a polyline this would space the nodes ever (x) seconds apart
Geocoding with a symbol should space the symbols every x seconds apart
(although i've never used this mode)

I have connected my Garmin GPS to my laptop and I can track my movements in
MapInfo using the Geotrack application (bundled with MI). I can manually
store my location using the GPS Point Geocode option within geotrack. What
I would like to do is automatically store my location (and time), say every
10 seconds. Is there an option I'm missing or is there another way of
copying effectively the track symbols to a table?
If there isn't an option, is there any code that a second MapBasic
application can use to either save the location or prompt geotrack to do a
'manual' geocode.
Failing this does anyone know of software that will do this.
