Ken,
nice to see an 'old chestnut' every now and again. Would I be right in
guessing you are printing to a HP using a postscript driver?
If you can live without it, make sure that none of the raster images have
any 'transparency' set..this is the real killer, because mapinfo and
'windows' get into a real bun-fight over how to deal with the transparent
pixels..The other things to avoid are halo's and borders in the true type
fonts..these also eat up resources. Try printing to HPGL format, or If you
can, try printing to 'file' using a post script driver, and then using
distiller to turn the ouput into pdf, then submit the pdf via acrobat to the
HP... it is an entertaining route (watch the difference in file
sizes.....quart-into-pint-pot type scenarios), but not an easy one to live
with. We have used propress in the past, and whilst better, its still not
very good with transparent rasters..basically, easy printing from mapinfo
is on my permanent wish list and the first thing i look at when beta
testing....i'm still waiting..However, I hope you find a solution....
regards
from a sunny (for a change) nottingham
