Miguel wrote >...Put this application also in the startup.WOR.< about the
PadMaster application, letting understand that it will work. I am sorry to
say that it will not work in the sense of resetting automatically the pads
as recorded previously. Because... the actual resetting is initiated by a
menu command or an icon. Adding it to the startup.wor, as having it loaded
by the Tool Manager, will simply load the tool, not launch its execution.
As I am always trying to avoid clicks, I imagined a stripped down version of
PadMastr that will act immediately at MI launch time. It is
PadMastr_stup.mbx that will work only at launch time and use the data
contained in the PadMastr_pos.INI file (which means that you need both
applications).
Trying to have it work correctly made me discover some interesting features
in the MI launching sequence, particularly concerning tools. I know of 3
ways to load an application at startup: in a wor (MapBasic or Startup), with
Tool Manager, in the mi launching command line. If the tool is added to the
Startup.wor (run application...), it is loaded first, then are added the
tools from the Tool Manager, finally those specified in the MI launching
command line.
That means that if you load PadMastr_stup via the Startup.wor, only the
MapInfo buttonpads will be relocated. If Tool Manager adds new buttonpads,
they will be created after that and not be relocated. Even if PadMastr_stup
was added to the Tool Manager, as it is not really possible to control the
order in which tools are actually loaded, it is difficult to garantee that
all the toolpads will be created before PadMastr_stup is executed. To see
all pads relocated in all circumstances, there is only one way: to add that
tool to the MI launching command line.
PadMastr_stup is now located next to big brother PadMaster in the MLC_INI
applications section of the PPCC site, i.e.

Hello Sren,
This line incorporated in the startup.WOR will dock it:
Alter ButtonPad "buttonpad_name" Show Fixed
...where "buttonpad_name" (need quotes) is your 3rd party application name.
To place all buttonpads exactly where you want them and keep them there,
obtain fix_pads.MBX by Mr. Jacques Paris
(http://www.total.net/~jakesp/jp_main_en.htm file: padmastr.zip).
Put this application also in the startup.WOR. You then arrange the (docked)
buttonpads the way you wish and select Tools | ButtonPad Master | Register
ButtonPad Positions. If by any chance you move one out of place, click on
the "Restore ButtonPads Positions" icon and it will go back to its original
position.
Best regards,
Miguel Iturralde
