I to would like network/floating licenses.

We currently run about 70 seats of MapInfo and keeping track of them all is
almost a full time job.

We also run several other programs that do handle network licensing.

ie MicroStation - Micromine - Vulcan

What this means is all the software is loaded on the users machine. When the
user starts a program it checks with a server for a license. If one is
available, it starts , if not , try again later.

This has some huge benefits.

You can put the software on all machines and not brake any license
agreements.

In my experience, because of this new users have easy access to the software
and because of that they use it.
Before you know it they become regular users - then power users........

This means in an office of 100 people you don't have to go out and buy a 100
MapInfo licenses at once. You just start with 5 to 10, and because the
software is on all machines people use it. Then you add more licenses as you
need them. Before you know it you will have a 100 power users.

MicroStation's License server software (from BENTLEY SYSTEMS) is the best
that I have seen. You can control which users have access to the software
and when. You can check licenses out to laptops for periods of time and much
much more.

If MapInfo were to offer a similar option I would be a very happy
man...............
