Hi all, We are about to convert a large number of disperate data sets from their various native co-ordinate systems into WGS84. The number of decimal places we choose to use will have significant implications both in the resultant data volume, and also on the accuracy of the data points stored. Any potential positional error would of course be greater at the equater then at the poles. Does anyone know of a study into this issue that I can refer to so that I may better understand the implications of what we are soon to attempt, or has anyone been through a similar process and has real figures from which I can base my decision? For example would it be prudent to convert the seconds of arc to 1 or 2 decimal places?
