I have used the HP650C and HP750C.  Both work fine for our needs.  Plotting
lots of raster images does slow them both down.  If you have lots of
polygons filled with patterns from the second or lower lines tends to
increase the size of the plot files and slow things down too.

If you have lots of large plot files you will need all the plotter memory
you can get.
